Positiva trasferta per Cram Motorsport a Silverstone

Dopo aver preso parte alle gare di Budapest in giugno, il team Cram è tornato in azione a Silverstone per il quarto round della Eurocup di Formula Renault 2.0 schierando una sola vettura per l’italo-tedesco Matteo Ferrer. Sin dal primo turno di prove libere, sfruttando anche il vantaggio regolamentare che gli consentiva di utilizzare un treno di gomma nuova in più rispetto ad altri avversari, Matteo aveva segnato il quarto tempo assoluto, mentre nella seconda sessione aveva fatto delle prove studiate dal team, che ha portato la compagine diretta dai fratelli Rosei a modificare i rapporti in previsione del weekend. Le qualifiche del sabato mattina, valide per le tre gare del fine settimana britannico, hanno visto Ferrer prendere lentamente confidenza con l’asfalto umido, concludendo col dodicesimo tempo del Gruppo A. In gara Matteo ha espresso al meglio le sue qualità sfruttando il potenziale della Tatuus preparata dalla squadra italiana, rimontando e non cedendo mai il passo in battaglia, conquistando come miglior risultato in gara 2 il sedicesimo posto, a dimostrazione come l’esperienza maturata nel corso del fine settimana lo abbia aiutato a migliorarsi. In gara 1 e gara 3 invece due ventunesimi posti, sempre a ridosso degli avversari che lo hanno preceduto. Il prossimo fine settimana Cram sarà anche in Eurocup, al Nurburgring con Vasily Romanov.

Cram Motorsport enjoys positive Silverstone outing

Returning to the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship after their last run at Budapest in June, Cram Motorsport was back on-track in the European competition and fielded one car for Italian-German driver Matteo Ferrer. Right from the opening practice, which saw him profit from the rule allowing one additional set of new tires, Matteo left a strong impression by scoring the fourth fastest laptime. In the second session, the team conducted some specific tests that eventually led the Rosei brothers and their crew to alter the gearing for the round.
In qualifying, held on Sunday morning and setting the field for all the three races of the weekend, Ferrer increased his confidence with the wet racetrack before ending up with the 12th fastest lap of the A Group. Matteo put his skills to fruition in the races, as he took full advantage of the Cram-prepared Tatuus car. In race 2, he finished in 16th place, displaying his improvement throughout the weekend. In race 1 and 3 he took two 21st place finishes, really close to the rivals he had in front.
