Red Bull “incorna” i Blue Boys
Dopo due weekend ricchi di podi e vittorie, al Red Bull Ring c’è stata la prima battuta a vuoto di Cram Motorsport.
Il team di Erba, nel terzo appuntamento dei sette in programma, a causa di circostanze fortuite non è riuscito a massimizzare il proprio potenziale; quello stesso potenziale che finora lo aveva collocato tra le teste di serie dell’Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth 2020.
Andrea Rosso, dopo una Q1 difficile, è riuscito a risollevare le sorti del proprio sabato con l’8a piazza in Q2; un risultato che sarebbe stato ancor migliore se non fosse stato per la cancellazione del giro più rapido a causa della regola dei track limit. In Gara 1, dopo un buono start dalla 16a posizione, è stato coinvolto in un incidente che ha causato danni irreparabili alla vettura forzandolo al ritiro.
In Gara 2, una toccata da dietro, ha compromesso l’assetto della sua vettura e ciò non gli ha consentito di andare oltre la 9a piazza; un risultato comunque degno di nota visto lo stato della vettura. In Gara 3, infine, un’esitazione allo start lo ha costretto ad un grande recupero nell’arco dei 30 minuti di gara, culminato con la 18a piazza.
Georgios Markogiannis ha finalmente compiuto il proprio esordio con i Blue Boys. Nonostante avesse maturato pochi chilometri sul tracciato e, nonostante fosse alla prima esperienza in gara in F4, il greco si è reso protagonista di un weekend tutto in crescendo. Nelle tre gare disputate Georgios ha chiuso due volte 19° (Gara 1 e Gara 3), mentre in Gara 2 è stato costretto ad alzare bandiera bianca anzitempo.
Mateusz Kaprzyk ha un po’ faticato nel toboga austriaco, rallentando quel percorso di crescita vertiginoso che lo aveva visto andare a punti già nel weekend di Imola. Mateusz, dopo il ritiro in Gara 1, ha chiuso entrambe le gare in 20a piazza, con un miglioramento notevole tra le due corse domenicali sul passo gara e sulla consistenza.
Gabriele Rosei, Team Manager: «Dopo aver visto di cosa sono capaci i miei ragazzi nei round di Misano ed Imola, è difficile accettare un risultato del genere. Gli obiettivi di inizio settimana erano senz’altro diversi, purtroppo però capitano situazioni come quelle di Spielberg e la bravura di un team sta proprio nel rialzarsi da esse. Abbiamo già voltato pagina e stiamo preparando al meglio la gara del Mugello per tornare nelle posizioni che ci spettano.»
Il prossimo appuntamento dell’Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth sarà all’Autodromo del Mugello il weekend del 4 ottobre e coinciderà con l’esordio di un altro Blue Boy, Vittorio Catino.

The Red Bull hits the Blue Boys
After two winning weekends, Cram Motorsport struggled a bit at the Red Bull Ring.
In the 3rd act of the F4 Championship powered by Abarth 2020, Erba’s team didn’t reach what it deserved due to unfortunate circumstances.
After a problematic Q1, Andrea Rosso managed to take a top10 result in Q2 – 8th place – a result that would have been even better without a track limit rule exceeding. In Race 1, after a promising start from the 16th position, he was involved in a crash that forced him to retire.
In Race 2 he was touched by another driver, which compromised the set-up of his car; this didn’t allow him to go beyond 9th place. In the last race of the weekend, a hesitation at the start forced him to make a remarkable comeback, culminated in the 18th place.
Georgios Markogiannis has finally made his debut with the Blue Boys. Despite having gained a few kilometers on the track and, being a rookie, the Greek was protagonist of a weekend all in crescendo. In the three races, Georgios finished 19th twice (Race 1 and Race 3), while in Race 2, he was forced to retire prematurely.
Mateusz Kaprzyk struggled a bit in the Austrian toboggan, slowing down the growth path that had seen him score points already at the Imola weekend. Mateusz closed Race 1 and 2 in 20th place, with a notable improvement between the two Sunday races in terms of race pace and consistency. In Race 1, he was forced to retire.
Gabriele Rosei, Team Manager: «After the good pace of Misano and Imola rounds, it is difficult to accept such a result. The beginning of the week’s goals were undoubtedly different, but situations like those of Spielberg happen, and the skill of a team lies precisely in getting up from them. We have already turned the page, and we are preparing as best we can for the Mugello race to get back to the positions we are entitled to. »
The next round of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth will be at the Mugello circuit on the weekend of 4 October. It will coincide with the debut of another Blue Boy, Vittorio Catino.
